Letters Across the Miles

Dear Jennifer,

Hoping you are enjoying the Start of Summer!

Our Annual "Kick Off to Summer Maine Get-Away" was an enjoyable one! The weather was not with us, but we did manage to jet out in between the raindrops for dinners, a  movie, and a few coastal rides. I do miss seeing the ocean after a long Winter, so the first visit is always a great treat. We enjoyed a few beverages along the way and of course had our fill of seafood. I enjoyed hearing you work at Chili's? I have to say, this is a fallback place for us, knowing we will always be satisfied - It was a great place to watch The Bruins game!

Please tell me about your upcoming trip to Chicago ... I am all ears ... So the two of you are trying to visit as many different ballparks as you can, Right? How many have you seen so far? I love how this is a journey you can take together ... Keep me updated!

Thank you for mentioning LOVE NOTES, I would like to join in, I am placing this on my "To-Do List" - I would love to be a part of this fine way of communicating!

How did your date night with the three little girls go? Ohhh, If we could only keep that "try anything demeanor" throughout life, Right? I think we should push each other to try and get back to that, What do you say?

You mentioned in your last writing if you could go back and flip the switch to when we "Lived Without Fear" of trying new things etc ... I feel the same way as you do, once the fear of getting hurt,   what others think, or of failing come into play - It ruins the childhood ways we grew up with.

Looking forward to more Summer days and nights of good company, wine and being outdoors!

Sending many hugs from Massachusetts!

Love,
Kristine

Be sure to check Jennifer's blog, "Giggling in the Rain" for her letter back to me next week ...

Letters Across the Miles ...

Dear Jennifer,
Your post could not have come at a better time - We are headed to Maine shortly - We do enjoy our "Kick Off To Summer" get-away - I am doing research to find yet "another" hidden jewel amongst the many treasures there. More to come!

Thank you for your kind words regarding my office view.  I believe we both have a great appreciation for "Views" - Anywhere, Really. If it is at the ocean, woods or in the city.  I feel I found my way into the city for a reason, only time will tell. I believe my answer will be present in the upcoming months.

I have to admit, I have "Bike Envy" when you mention your rides - I hope to get a bike soon so I will be able to explore a bit more, as you do. Walking is fine, but I need something new. I feel I could take it for errands, down to the pond to visit the ducks, to the center to take in a chapter of a great book etc ... So many possibilities ... For those few free moments we are given ...

I love your attention to self care - Reading inspiring words to get your day started, How Comforting! I love this idea ... You asked how I nourish my soul? I love relaxing my Hubby, Visiting my family & friends, Photographing anything I love, Writing poetry, Reading other people's blogs (like yours), Reading a few chapters in a good book, Walking outside to see how my flower garden is coming along, Watching a good movie, Thumbing through a creative book to give me some inspiration etc ... So many ways to fill my soul ...

I found this quote above online and wanted to add it to this letter - Knowing you could appreciate it - Enjoy!

Sending a friendly hug your way,
Kristine ox

Letters Across the Miles ... A New View

Dear Jennifer,

I wanted to tell you that I  continue to keep you and your family in my thoughts regarding your Nana. I believe that "Time" helps us to heal. "Time" aids us to move on, rebuild and renew.

Congratulations on "FEAST OF WORDS" !!! ... Your home gathering of great company, writers, and making special  memories ... I so hope your dream of "Taking it on the Road" comes true - I would love to take part in your vision that has come to life ... I so wish I could have been there ... Please know that I was there, in spirit ... I would love to see pics of that night ... If you have some to share.

It was a real pleasure to see how you and Dustin enjoyed attending your first Mets game of the season - Nice that you both have the same vision, to see as many fields, as you can. Nice when we can find a common interest! (Loved your pic, By the way!)

Yes, May is our annual "Kick Off to Summer" Getaway to Maine ... We have been going to Maine during this time of the year since we dated. We love Maine - At times we try to research an area that we both have not seen before.  We have our favorite places, but we do like to mix it up a bit. Last year, it poured all weekend - So we made the best of it and went to Scarborough Downs
(To Watch Horse Racing)-  We really enjoyed ourselves ... I actually ended up winning 7 out of 10 Races !!! ...
The winnings were small, but picking the possible winners and placers made it great fun!

The photo that I decided to add to this weeks letter (under our Letters Across the Miles Pic) is that of my new office view. I am a few cubicles down from this window, but it is nice having a view like this, so close. We are located on the fifth floor, at times it looks like a moving postcard. People walking everywhere, heading to the train and bus stations below ... Thank you for wishing me good luck with my new position. I have to admit I am enjoying the work, the other coworkers and of course the feel of the city - There is such great energy with all the skyscrapers, businesses, and everyone on a mission to get to their destinations. It is something I never tire of ...

Please be sure to share some pics of your adventures on your bike ... I hope to get a bicycle this Summer or Fall. I believe I would love it, as much as you do. I am pushing for my husband to also get one, so we could bring them along on vacation or use the local bike path in our hometown -  I have not had a bike in so long ...

Glad to hear you are enjoying your porch - We installed a patio last Summer that we did not have a chance to enjoy - Looking forward to using it this year along with a few glasses of wine! LOL

Until the next time we chat ~ Sending you much love across the miles ...

Tuesday Notes ...

Spring is upon us and it is a season I think all New Englanders were anxiously awaiting.

Spring and Fall seem to be my favorites - But Spring is short-lived here. We are out of a Winter coat and seldomly need another for many months to follow.
Welcome to New England!

These days I am loving song lyrics ... I cannot get Bruno Mars out of my head ... Or some of the other pop hits on the radio ... They inspire me with my own writing ... I listen carefully to the lyrics during my ride to work in the morning ... Great way to start the day ...

I am also working in the city again - So I notice things along the walk to my office building ... Words written in the cement, gold or silver engravings in certain walkways, signs, fence posts, engravings in buildings etc ... I plan to take my camera with me to work and see how many great pics I can gather in a 5 minute walk ... I am thinking, Many!

What have you "Noticed" lately?

Letters Across The Miles ... A Heart for Nana ...

Photo Credit - A Little Bit of Me

Dear Jennifer,
As I read your last letter, I knew I wanted to send along "a heart" to you and your family regarding the loss of your Nana. I am sure she was a wonderful woman. You were all lucky to have had her in your lives ... It was nice to hear the lovely stories that you all hold so dear.

Married, 62 years, How Amazing - 11 Children - and so many grandchildren ... I so enjoyed reading all of your childhood memories I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers in the upcoming days and weeks ...

Grandmothers are special people. I should know, my Mom and her Mom gives/gave us all the love we ever needed and it only continues. My Dad's Mom passed when he was only fourteen. This was a real loss. I so wish I could have met her. I also wish I would have had more time with my Mom's Mom. Just a few thoughts, I wanted to share with you that I think about - From time to time.

I am so sorry you experienced such griefFirst with your Nana and with the Boston Marathon Bombing in such close proximity. Yes, This event happened a bit too close for comfort. Bostonians are strong, we will rebuild. We will survive. We will come back braver. My heart goes out to the families that have been effected. Wishing them clarity and peace with time. Time heals.

Thank you for your kind wishes regarding my new job. I am enjoying it, the people, the work. I love being in a large city, the skyscrapers all around, cafe's, and busy streets. I do like the sounds of the city, I have to say ... I think a trip to New York City is calling me ... It has been awhile ...

We are planning a trip to Maine in May, our "Kick Off to Summer" trip that we so look forward to, each year. I will pack the camera, as always - To capture the beauty of nature! Any big plans for Summer?

Hoping you are well, My Dear Friend ...  Until Next Time!
Much Love,
Kristine
